THIS IS SHEFFIELD'S
Guide to student life in sheffield
With two universities and 60,000 students living in the Steel City, it’s safe to say Sheffield is a student city.
2020 is a weird year to be alive for everybody. Student life is all about experiences, unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic has put some restrictions in place but you can still experience Sheffield as a student.
With lectures, reading, essays, exams and a social life to manage sometimes you’ve not got time to cook. Fueling up in Sheffield doesn’t need to eat into your loan too much.
There’s some great, affordable spots in the city that will satisfy both your tastebuds and stomach such as The Forum on Division Street, Howst on Howard Street, in Broomhill you’ve got Proove Pizza and you can’t go wrong with fish and chips from Ranmoor Friery. Ecclesall Road and Sharrow Vale are packed with places to eat cheap including burritos from Street Food Chef, Roney’s do great pork sandwiches whilst Graze Inn is a crowd pleaser.

Pubs and Bars
Sheffield is full of great places to eat and drink. It’s a city known for its beer but there’s options for every kind of drinker.
Don’t worry, you don’t need to go to Spoons for a pint under a fiver. Head to Kelham Island for Shakespeares, The Fat Cat and Kelham Island Tavern where you’ll find locally brewed real ale for £3. Ecclesall Road has craft beer spots The Portland House, The Eagle or the Ecclesall Ale Club, as does Broomhill has The Itchy Pig and The York whilst Division Street has The Forum, Common Room, The Old House and Bungalow & Bears offering the best of everything.

The Leadmill and Corp are Sheffield’s independent venues that hold student nights that include cheap drinks and sticky dance floors, just remember to social distance, unfortunately 5 pints doesn’t stop COVID-19…
